1. ESTABLISHMENT

The company started operating from the 2nd of January 2001. However, discussions on the formation of the company dates from way back, since 1997 careful considerations into its location, business operatives, management and structures were discussed to date of commencement.

2. MANAGEMENT


The management of the company consists of the following:

2.1 Mr M L Ledwaba - Director and Shareholder
2.2 Mr J Z H Müller - Director and Shareholder
2.3 Mrs Alta van Wyk - Estates Manager and Shareholder
2.4 Mrs D Basson - Estates Manager and Shareholder
2.5 Mr I J Boshoff - Estates Manager
2.6 Mr J J Beetge - Estates Manager

The above people form the core of the company but we have the extensive support personnel including people like Mr Johnny Young with 36 years banking and bookkeeping experience. For the last couple of years management have taken instructions from individuals, attorneys, trade unions, the major banks as well as the Landbank and has abundant experience in the administration of all types and sizes of estates.

Mr M L Ledwaba


Mr Ledwaba obtained his B.Iuris degree in 1995 at the University of the North.  He thereafter obtained a LLB degree at the University of Pretoria in 1999 and also did his diploma in Insolvency Law in 2001. He has a vast network of support including trade unions, the Landbank and all the major banks. He has also acted as the attorney for government ministers and has extensive deceased estate experience. Mr Ledwaba is a lecturer at the LAW school where he lectures Deceased Estates.

Mr J Z H Müller

The director Mr J Z H Müller has been taking sole appointments since 1985 and handled various liquidations and sequestrations ranging from minimum fee estates to estates running into millions of rands. He has also handled estates where various bank’s exposure ran into millions of rand. Mr Müller also successfully completed a Advanced Certificate in Cross Border Insolvency at the University of Pretoria He has also handled just about any type of business, farming and other estates. Mr Müller also obtained the Advanced Certificate in Insolvency Law in 2003. Mr Müller is actively involved in workshops regarding business rescue at the University of Pretoria and has a keen interest in the field of business rescue.

Mrs Alta van Wyk


Mrs Alta van Wyk worked for attorneys as a personal assistant for 14 years and joined Cape Trustees in 1992 assisting Mr J Z H Müller. She successfully completed the Aipsa Diploma in 1995, the Cross Border Insolvency Diploma in 2000 as well as the Advanced Certificate in Insolvency Law in 2004. She is on the Master’s panel of liquidators and takes sole appointments.

Mrs Deidre Basson

Mrs Deidre Basson joined Cape Trustees in 1991 assisting Mr J S Venter. She successfully completed the Aipsa Diploma in 1995 as well as the Advanced Certificate in Insolvency Law in 2004. She is on the Master’s panel of liquidators. She joined our firm on the 1st of September 2001.

Mr Izak Boshoff

Mr Izak Boshoff completed his B Iuris Degree in 1997. He joined the Master’s Office, Pretoria in 1999. He started with our company in 2003. He successfully completed the Aipsa Diploma in 2003 and the Advanced Certificate in Insolvency law in 2004. He is currently studying towards his LLB degree.

Mr J J Beetge

Mr Hannes Beetge has been taking sole appointments since 1983 and handled various liquidations and sequestrations ranging from minimum fee estates to estates running into millions of rands. He has also handled estates where various bank’s exposure ran into millions of rand. Mr Beetge also successfully completed a Advanced Certificate in Cross Border Insolvency at the University of Pretoria. He has also handled just about any type of business, farming and other estates.

3. ON AFFIRMATIVE ACTION

In step with the changing labour policies, Tshwane Trust Co’s Management are happy to associate themselves with the call for Black Empowerment. The company regards its participation in this policy as justified and worthwhile.

Our approach is as follows:

- To continue employing people from all segments of the population, neither sacrificing the standards  nor merits, of the company.
- To assist young and hardworking aspirant Black Liquidators for full participation in this field of the law.
- Tshwane Trust Company is serious and fully committed in this regard, without any form of “window dressing” or tokenism.
- Tshwane Trust is a black economic empowerment company seeing that more that 25% of its shares are held by previously
 

  disadvantaged people.
- A further 21% shares are held by women which are also regarded as previously disadvantaged.

 

4. BOND FACILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

 

The liquidators in the employ of Tshwane Trust Company has unlimited access to bonds of security facilities and therefore can be appointed in any matter. All the liquidators that take appointments in Tshwane Trust Company are covered by a professional indemnity policy therefore the interest of creditors will always be protected.

The above company started operating from no 19 Bond Street, Clydesdale, Pretoria, after which it moved to its own premises in September 2001.  We currently enjoy the support from all the major banks and various other financial institutions.

5. The company is represented on the panels of all the Master’s Offices except Grahamstown & Bloemfontein. We also have a country wide network to our disposal.  All the liquidators are members of The Association of Insolvency Practitioners of Southern Africa (AIPSA).
